Seniors Cafe is for seniors within residential care facilities held at Macquarie Café, in Cardiff NSW. Operating once a month we promote fun by having entertainment for the seniors which is in the form of games, concerts, dancers, and art exhibitions etc. A team of volunteers gather to love, honour and respect these community seniors.
Our church’s volunteers serve coffee, serve homemade slices and talk to the seniors on the day creating an atmosphere that everyone can’t wait to come back to, with over 350 seniors and carers attending Cafe each year, the Care Managers of each facility have noted that when the residents return to the nursing homes, they are smiling, lighter and have had their spirits lifted. Showing off Macquarie Life Church to the seniors is a real treat for a volunteer, many cannot believe that we have a church so big, so filled with young people and our music is so good. Volunteers feel privileged to serve the community within Café. |
